BHIMESHWARI - 120kms away from the city, lies in Malavalli taluk. Nestles amidst the Cauvery Wildlife Sanctuary. As River Cauvery flows amidst this sanctuary, hence it is been named after it. It is a home for Elephants, Crocodiles, Mahsheer fishes. Even it is also known as Angler's paradise.
SAVANDURGA - 70kms away, lies in Magadi taluk. It is famous for its single monolithic granite peak known as "Karigudda and Billigudda", which used to be a "Kempegowda's hide out". Bheemeshwari in Mandya district is an ideal place for viewing wildlife and a relaxing holiday.

A major hill-station in Chickmagalur District, Kemmannagundi is also called KR Hills, named after the Wodeyar, King Krishnaraja Wodeyar IV, Mysore, who made it his favourite summer camp. Kemmannagundi is a single, secluded hill surrounded by sprawling coffee estates, waterfalls and ornamental gardens.

Gati Summer Dance Residency 2010

New Delhi

2 May – 11 July, 2010 & Deadline for Submissions: 8 March, 2010

The Gati Forum announces the launch of the 2nd Gati Summer Dance Residency (GSDR) from 2 May – 11 July, 2010 in New Delhi.

GSDR is an annual choreography residency that provides emerging choreographers from classical AND contemporary background, with the unique opportunity to create and stage their own
 performance with guidance from senior mentors in the field.


GSDR invites emerging choreographers in India working within the classical and/or contemporary dance fields to submit a proposal for the creation of a new choreographic work. Successful applicants will each receive financial
 support together with access to individual mentoring, workshops and
production assistance to create their performances.

The mentors for Gati Summer Dance Residency 2010 are Maya Krishna Rao, Anusha Lall & Amitesh Grover

The residency will
terminate with a public showing on 9 July, 2010 in New Delhi.

María José Jove Foundation's 4th International Award

 
 

The María José Jove Foundation's 4th International Award for the Fine Arts

The María José Jove Foundation launches the 4th International Award for the Fine Arts worth €27,000 and created for artists less than 35 years old of any nationality and living anywhere.

Submissions can be of any topic and technique. Artists can submit a maximum of two of their own original works, in any of the following disciplines: painting, sculpture, photography, engraving and new disciplines. The works can involve any subject matter and dimensions should not exceed 200 x 200 centimeters.

Those interested can consult the terms and conditions online at www.fundacionmariajosejove.org and the works must be submitted to the Foundation headquarters between April 12th and 30th 2010. The jury's decision will be made public on May 27th and the winning work will become a part of the María José Jove Foundation Collection. The award-winning artist will be invited to be a jury member for next year's awards.

Jury
The jury for this 4th International Award for the Fine Arts, presided by Felipa Jove Santos, President of the Foundation, consists of prestigious personalities from the art world such as Chema Madoz, the art critic Fernández-Cid, the professor at Porto University, Baltazar Torres, and the Colombian Gloria Herazo, winner of the Arte Jove-n Award in 2008. The jury is rounded off by Marta García-Fajardo, Director of the María José Jove Foundation Collection.
