OUR BUNDLE OF JOY

SHAMAA IS THE NAME

I was bent upon naming my kid with a Kannada name and yes I have done it.  Shamaa according to Rev. Keetel's first Kannada dictionary published in 1894's Shamaa means "Calm and Quiet".  Then we realised it also means mother earth and also another name for Goddess Saraswati.  But little do you guys know that its the last letters of my name and my wife's name (Sathisha & Ramaa!).  Hmm for all those who could not make it for the naming ceremony I shall be putting up pictures soon and probably a small video clip too! Cheers and I hope all your good wishes are with the baby.

This little bundle of joy came into our lives on December 25, 2004 at 21.32 hrs.  I was wishing and asking all I know to wish for a baby girl for us so god did not disappoint us this time by giving us this cutie pie! 

She was just filling up both my palms and did not bother to open her eyes to look into who is carrying her (believe me its not easy to carry a new born baby).  Only 2.6 Kg's she was just like my organiser in my hand.

With her antiques and changing gestures everyday, she has won hearts of all surrounding us.  Well probably every one who have seen her has told me that its a very pretty baby.  Thank god for small mercies she did not take on the father!!!
